Before I get started on this weeks photo, I would like to draw your attention my my updated logo. I loved the signature style font my name is in, and when I first grabbed it placed the word “Photography below. But then I realised the P and Y were already there, so simply placed the letters h o t o g r a p h below. I was really happy with it. I have kept the all white version for years. But I realised people weren’t seeing the use of the P and Y in my name to make photography straight away. I even had friends tease me asking what hotograph is. So I decided to start toying with it. There was no way I was getting rid of the font I use for my signature. I have looked far and wide for other fonts but cannot find anything even near similar to let me use that P and Y. I actually lost it once. I ended up taking a photo of my logo and asking Google what the font was. It took a while but was able to find the font called “Russell” and redo my signature.
I wanted the word Photography to stand out a bit more. So I left the P and Y white, while I adjusted the colours of Ste, hen, Joll. I tried greys, blues and yellows, reds and purples. But then found this orange tone that went well with the black background. It had an earthy tone which pretty much represents Australia. After that I really wanted the word photography to stand out. I had tried light and standard fonts, but nothing really stood out. But when I came across this extra bold font, I knew I had found what I was looking for. But something was still missing. That was my motto. WANDER – EXPLORE – DISCOVER. So using a light font I was able to slot that underneath.
So let me know what you think. Had you noticed previously with the old all white logo that 2 words melded to make Stephen Jolly Photography? If not , here they are… the old and the new….Anyway enough of that. Onto the Kangaroo photo…

This is one of the few photos of a kangaroo I have, that was not taken out in the wild. It was taken at Cleland Wildlife Reserve in The Adelaide Hills. I had just finished giving her a bit of a feed, and I don’t know if she was used to people with cameras visiting her, but she remain still as a statue as I took this shot. As soon as I was done I rewarded her with some more of the food I still had left and she readily gobbled it down. I love this photo because of the crispness and sharpness of the shot – and the background just adds to it. I don’t go to wildlife reserves very often. As you know I prefer that challenge of capturing wildlife in the wild. But I am glad I went to Cleland Wildlife Reserve this day and captured this gorgeous kangaroo.

For those of you who have looked through my Galleries, you will know this is not a new photo. It is just a new option in my store. As promised in my last post, I am going to add other Photo Products beside my Art Print above that I believe you will find intriguing and appealing. Keep looking around as there is plenty to choose from.
