November in Australia is a time I look forward to every year. The weather starts warming up! The Orion Constellation starts rising in the east, and the Jacaranda trees blossom for that very short window of time. However this year the weather has not been steadily warming up. We have had hot days and cold days. It is if we have been going from Winter to Summer and then back to Winter. And the days I have been out with the camera have not been those Summer Days on most occasions. But I still wanted to capture the Jacarandas. They are beautiful trees and it has been a few years since I have captured any. So I made my way to a street lined with them and captured this! It was a cold overcast day and I wish I had a bit more sun shining down on the trees. But I was still happy with the end result. I did go out a week later, and though they still looked nice, they were starting to lose their bloom.

On another of these “not so warm” November days I was travelling through the Adelaide Hills when my friend spotted some Llamas. Luckily there was a car park right beside the farm. So I pulled over and took some photos. The first thing I notice was the poor things had just been sheered and had no woolly coat to keep them warm and it was a very cold day. I really felt for them, but then a week later it was a hot day and I guess they would have appreciated it.

So that’s why I love November. You just have be on the ball if you want to capture the jacarandas at their best. It’s not always easy as depending on the weather they can bloom anywhere from the start of the month till the end. So enjoy them while you can, as soon they will be all green until November next year
