Don’t Delete… Not Yet!

Don’t Delete… Not Yet!

Now I love planes and when I took this photo I took one look at it and went “Ughh!” I then started pushing the buttons to delete it… But something unknown stopped me and I decided to wait until I had uploaded it, and all the other photos to my computer before I deleted anything that day. I am so glad I did! Because the photo below now sits in a folder on my computer I made that day called “Keepies”. What on earth for you may be asking?

A very Blurry Photo

A Very Blurry Photo

Well if you look at about 2 o’clock from the plane you can see a little white dot. Something I had not seen on the 1 inch screen of the camera when I was about to delete it. Something you may not see either if you’re viewing this on you mobile which most of you are probably doing.  I had no idea what it was, so I zoomed in.

What was that little white dot?

The International Space Station

It turned out to be the International Space Station. I went on line and discovered it had passed over Adelaide at that time of day. So while this photo is pretty lousy, I love it because it is the only photo I have of the International Space Station. I caught it completely by chance!

So I encourage you to not delete your photos until you have had a good look at them.

I don’t need to zoom in now when I look at this photo, because I know that the ISS is there. The sad thing is I can’t recall if the plane I was trying to photograph that day was a Boeing 747 (still my all time favourite civilian aircraft) or an Airbus 380. However with my next much better compact camera I was able to capture this very clear shot of a Qantas AB 380.

Zoomed In – No ISS this time!

So hang off on deleting that awful photo. There may be something in the background that you didn’t see at first.

So remember to Wander – Explore – Discover – Even after you have taken that horrible photo!

I’m Stephen

I love my photography. I believe it all comes down to my love of nature. I live in Adelaide, Australia, and we are so blessed to live close to the sea and close to the bush. Twenty minutes to the west and you see beautiful beaches. Twenty minutes to the east and you’re walking through the bush with koala’s in the wild. Then we have the city itself with an abundance of modern and historical architecture. But I love other things. Birds, landscapes, the stars. Flowers and bees. You will see them here on my website.
