I mentioned in my last post that I was wanting to get to Carrick Hill, but it was closed. So after some investigating I went back on a day it said it would be open. I must say it is a very nice and relaxing place to visit. Many families were there, enjoying the start of the school holidays. And even though I struggled to get any photos of the mansion there that I liked, due to it being difficult because of the angle of the sun, there was still plenty of things to photograph.

If you live in Adelaide and you’ve never been there, or your visiting, I encourage you to head up there. There is a nice coffee shop as you arrive, and plenty of space to sit down and have a picnic and go for a walk around.

Speaking of walking about! There is also a Storybook Trail for the kids to explore, that include stories such as Wind in the Willows, The Hobbit, The Secret Garden, The Narnia Chronicles and many more. I may dedicate a whole blog to the trail in the near future.

The Waterfall below I really liked. I took photos of it at a lot of different shutter speeds. The one you see below was taken with the shutter open for 1 whole second, which is a long time in photography. Luckily I had a ledge to rest the camera on, otherwise I would have needed to go back to the car for my tripod.

So even though I struggled to get some good photos of the Mansion that I had gone up for, there was plenty of other things to take photos of.

Another good feature are the views that look over towards the city and down to the seaside suburb of Glenelg.

So as I said if you’re an Adelaidian or are visiting, Carrick Hill is a great place to go to. This was my very first visit there, but I know it will not be my last.
So Remember! No matter where you live….
DON’ T FORGET TO
